Climate Change

Just how much CO2 can be saved?

This is a hard one to answer as there are so many variables when looking at carbon dioxide emissions. The CO2 reduction however would be significant it is safe to say, certainly we are talking about a much bigger reduction than converting incandescent light bulbs to fluorescent. If every car owner suddenly converted their car to electric, there would be a large decrease in the demand for foreign oil, a constant drain on today's economy and contributor to CO2 emissions.

CO2 emissions would drop to a fraction of what they were and a whole range of renewable de-centralised electricity generation options would become available through vehicle to grid technologies. Here is a photo taken in Beijing which has considerable air pollution problems. Luckily in Australia we don't suffer from such haze to the same extent, however with increasing growth in capital cities and a growing demand for personal transport, we do want to avoid ending up with a city with poor air quality issues. Vehicle to grid technology steers us in the right direction towards cleaning up the air in cities.
